Summer is coming to an end, and with that so are all the fun summer festivals. We don't want you to miss out on all the fun that's been happening this summer, so don't miss your last chance to attend some of these awesome events that are coming to an end for this season.
Summer Music Festivals
Jazz in the Park:
Jazz in the Park happens every Thursday night in Cathedral Park (East Town). This year Jazz in the park switched things up and decided to host artists of different music styles such as country and rock. There are still two more opportunities to attend Jazz in the Park on Thursday, August 22nd and Thursday August 29th. Arrive at 5pm to be a part of the parks Happy Hour, offering drink specials and stay as late as 9 pm after the last performer is finished.
Chill on the hill
The Bay View Neighborhood Association put on the free concert series "Chill on the Hill", happening every Tuesday night of the summer in Humboldt park. There is one more opportunity left for you to experience Chill on the Hill this summer, on August 27th. The night will entail music from Buffalo Gospel and Shonn Hinton and lots of food vendors. Chill on the Hill will be open from 6-8:30 pm.
Farmers Markets
Brady Street Sunday Funday’s Art & Farmers Market
Brady Street offers a "Sunday Funday' version of a farmer’s market and arts fair located at North Arlington Place and Brady Street. Stop by to get your fresh produce, and enjoy brunch from a local restaurant nearby. There are three more opportunities to visit this season, those days include, August 25th, September 8th, and September 22.
East Town Market-Cathedral Square Market
Visit East Town's farmer's market in Cathedral Square Park and get active in the morning. This market offers free yoga from 9-10 am at the park's main stage. There are also Dancework classes offered for children and Zumba for all ages. Over 50 vendors are there each Saturday to offer the best produce, food, entertainment and art. The Cathedral Square Market happens every Saturday morning 9am-12:30pm. September 21st is customer appreciation day and October 12th is the closing day of the market with a special fall festival theme.
The Garden District Farmer's Market
The Garden District Neighborhood Association is a non-profit who aims to keep Milwaukee's 13th district a beautiful working community through gardening and landscaping. They host a farmer’s market every weekend 1-4 pm at Wilson Park Senior Center through October 6th, you still have a couple of chances left to visit!
River West's Gardner's Market
River West's Gardner's Market is a small neighborhood market offering locally grown produce, hand crafted art, and live music from local artists. The Market runs every Sunday through October 26th from 10am-3pm.
Shorewood's Farmer's Market
This family-friendly neighborhood farmers market is open through October 27th, there is still plenty of time to attend this season! Visit from 9:30am-1pm to enjoy the best seasonal produce and other fun.
Walker's Square Farmer's Market
Farmers manage and till small plots from 1 to 4 acres in southeastern Wisconsin then provide quality delicious produce to Walker Square residents and restaurants interested in supporting organic, local family farms. The Market is located between Mineral & Washington and 9th & 10th Streets and runs from 7am-3pm through October.
Outside fun
Film on the Hill
The Bay View Neighborhood Association also offers a "Film on the Hill" night which allows you to watch a movie on the big screen outdoors in Humboldt Park. There are two opportunities to attend Film on the Hill left, on August 31st they will be showing The Wizard of OZ, and on September 28th they will be showing First Man. There is also free popcorn provided by Avalon Theater.
Outdoor Urban Market
The Milwaukee Public Market offers a special outdoor market on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. Market goers get one hour of free parking with a market purchase. The Last two Outdoor Urban Markets will take place Saturday, August 24th and Saturday, August 31st.
MKE Punkfest
MKE Punkfest is a multi-day festival to celebrate all things punk and punk music. This festival runs at various Milwaukee locations August 24th-September 9th. If you like punk style, this is the festival for you!
Third Ward Arts Festival
The Third Ward Arts Festival is an outdoor festival featuring art creators and vendor’s artwork for purchase in the streets of the Historic Third Ward. This is the perfect end of summer festival to experience and engage in creativity. The festival runs on Broadway Street across from the Milwaukee public Market on August 29th-September 2nd.
Milwaukee Rally
Milwaukee Rally is a festival for motorcycle lovers. Throughout Milwaukee there will be various events to show off your gear and motorcycle, grab some food, and enjoy live entertainment. This event runs August 29th-September 2nd.
